How does it actually work?
You set a prompt once (for example "fix my grammar, keep my tone"). Then you type normally in any app, press your key or trigger, and your text is rewritten in place the way your prompt says. Write, press a key, done.
Is my writing private?
Yes. There is no ControlG server. Your text goes straight from your device to the AI provider you chose, using your own key. We never see it, and there is no account or tracking.
How much does it cost to run?
The app is a one time $29. AI usage is billed by your provider, and Google Gemini's free tier is enough for most people, so it can cost you nothing to run.
Which devices are supported?
macOS 12 Monterey and later (Intel and Apple Silicon), Windows 10 (1607+) and 11 (64 bit), and Android 7.0 and later. One purchase covers all three.
Where does it work, and where does it not?
Almost any normal text field: chats, email, browsers, notes, docs, code editors. It cannot touch password fields (blocked by the system) or a few unusual editors that do not expose standard text.
Do I need my own AI key?
Yes, you bring your own key from Gemini, OpenAI, Anthropic, or any compatible service. That is what keeps ControlG private and free of any server of ours.
Is it really open source?
Yes. You can read every line, check the privacy promises, or build on it. The paid code unlocks the ready to run apps and supports development.
What if I want a refund?
